El Chaclador
I had the incredible opportunity to work alongside Angel de Paz, a talented professional wrestler, at several pro wrestling events. Recently, he found himself in a tough spot after a car accident, and during his ongoing recovery, he was overwhelmed by the outpouring of support from fans eager to help him. It was during this time that he realized he didn’t have any merchandise that truly represented him, which sparked a brilliant idea.
When Angel reached out to me for help with a design, I was genuinely thrilled. After a few exchanges, we honed in on the style that resonated with him, and I got to work on something that would reflect his unique persona, "El Chanclador." I requested a front-facing photo of him and transformed it into a vibrant vector graphic that captured his spirit.
To bring a playful vibe to the design, I added a couple of chanclas (flip-flops) on either side, a nod to his character. I presented him with two design options—one with a border and one without. Seeing the final result was a proud moment; it exuded a traditional Mexican feel reminiscent of the imagery you might see on a hot sauce bottle. I can't wait for his fans to see it!
For those looking to contribute to Angel’s recovery and expenses, a GoFundMe has been set up and donations can be made here.
As soon as Angel has a way for fans to get their hands on any merchandise with this design, I will post links here.
